Panel 1. Backstage at the Club Selene, a close-up shot as a manly fist raps on the star-adorned door of Dahlia's dressing room.

SFX: knock knock

Dahlia: (from within) Yes? Who is it?

Panel 2. Close-up on Riley. The other two cops are still there, behind and to either side of him.

Riley: Police.

Riley: Official business.

Panel 3. From within the dressing room, as Dahlia, wearing a robe, opens the door. The dressing room is filled with the usual stuff – hangers holding various dresses and costumes and boas, a settee, a small table holding several vases of flowers, a dressing table with make-up and brightly illuminated mirror.

Dahlia: Police business?

Riley: My name is Lieutenant Riley, Miss Blue. May I come in?

Panel 4. Inside the dressing room, just Riley and Dahlia. Riley is sitting on the settee next to the floral bouquets. Dahlia sits on the chair in front of her dressing table, but is turned to face the detective. Riley has a small note pad in his hand.

Riley: I understand you live at the Hammett Arms, apartment 4-D. is that correct?

Dahlia: Yes.

Riley: And you share that apartment with a Miss Loretta Luna?

Panel 5. Medium close-up on the understandably curious and anxious Miss Blue.

Dahlia: Yes. Loretta's the hatcheck girl here. We've been friends and roommates for a couple of years.

Dahlia: What is this all about, lieutenant?

Panel 6. Medium close-up of Riley, all business.

Riley: Miss Luna was arrested in your apartment at 7:30 this evening…

Riley: The charge is… murder.
